Trinity College London have now released the syllabus for their Rock and Pop exams. Catering for Bass, Drums, Guitar, Keyboards and Vocals, the exams provide the opportunity for Rock and Pop musicians to gain accredited qualifications.

With carefully chosen and arranged songs, students can learn their favourite songs with pieces from artists ranging from Rihanna and David Bowie, to Radiohead and Dream Theater.

Available from entry level standard all the way up to Grade 8 the exams are supported by 48 new books which include the sheet music background information on the songs and a CD with demo and backing tracks.

In March Trinity Rock and Pop will be heading out on the road to host workshops which will allow you to learn about the new qualifications. Included in the workshops will be information on exam structure, the marking scheme and song lists.

The next workshops will be held at Take it away retailer Chamberlains Music at Haslemere in Surrey. There are sessions held over two days:

• Thursday 1 March 2012
  6.30pm – 9.00pm
